Ko-Chan Engineering built a cheap, easy to maintain scout ship to sell to universities and survey companies. The Starstrike has a full suite of geological sensors.

Many of these have been found in the service of smugglers who have added weaponry and upgraded the sensors to military grade ship sensors to use as fast blockade runners.
