Bothan Benevolence
Here's the lineart for Norr. I thought I'd include the YT-1300 just for kicks. I need the practice with vehicles...
I've got a color test up for approval now. Also, does the YT-1300 look okay? I just can't be happy with it...

Nice Boyhan, and NICE GUN!

Evan,
NICE!, you know how I love technical work, and that YT is coming along great. Your right mandible is a little too tilted up though, might straighten that. Other than that, the work is amazing.
Great stuff.

I'm not exactly used to benevolent Bothans. ;)

You might also consider tightening his jaw line too. The top half of the face is great, but the bottom looks a little more apelike than canine. Looks like a tough bastard, regardless. Certainly prepared.

I love it so far Evan, I am very very excited to see this character brought to life and happy you're the one doing it. Thank you, again.

Oh, I love it, man! The Bothan looks great, but all the cooler is his rifle... self-created or based on a special design? It looks to have some L86/SA80 influence.
Anyway, this is shaping up greatly. I thought you weren't taking any more requests? :P
No, just kidding, man. ;)

Evan's very particular about what requests he'll take... he's got a couple of mine that appear to have stalled, but I can't complain because I really work him too hard anyway.
Regarding the jaw - I've seen Bothans drawn several ways, some more canine, others more ape-like. Most newer stuff shows them with fairly long snouts, but I'd say that hasn't been resolved.

Good eye on the YT-1300. I'll take care of that...
That's partly why I claimed this one, Ubiqtorate. I wanted a break.
Concerning the jawline, it's an easy fix, but Bothans have been portrayed in many different ways throughout the different RPG books. With such ambiguous examples, I tend to aim for something in the middle of them all. I don't want to go too simian, for sure, but I don't want to go too canine either, nor feline, nor equine.
The rifle is based on the KX-60 blaster rifle, modified as per the request, of course.
And yeah, I might thin out on the requests I take for a bit, but I'd already taken this one and need to not just let it sit.

Yeah, I suppose I had noticed that. Some of the early depictions of Borsk Fey'lya look like a furry elf. Either way, it looks great.

Evan, do you mean a break from evil Bothans, or just a break from my picky requests? ;)
For the record, I really like your depiction of Bothans. It's a good blend of the various styles, plus they look alien without being so unfamiliar that there's no connection. They appear to have a certain nobility to them.

Looking very nice so far, I especially like the starfield in the background and the great shading on the YT.
I also like your choice of color for the Bothan. The blue does look rather benevolent, indeed.
I really like where this is going, keep it going. :D

That is the coolest Bothan ever. I love the sketch.
