The Legend of Lentaro /Clint Eastwood: Jedi Knight
Okay, so my mentor Jedi based on Clint Eastwood is going to be named Lentaro Colward. He was once a great Jedi knight, on the verge of attaining the rank of Master Jedi. Then he was disgraced, and his first ever Padawan was killed in the incident.
I'm not going to go into detail about this incident, just in case any of my players come by this thread.
Suffice to say however, that when he went into self-imposed exile (he gave up on the Jedi Order, but they never gave up on him.) the stories of his astounding exploits still made their rounds in the Jedi Temple.
(Similar to the legends of Clint's character in Unforgiven.)
Most of these stories have been exaggerated, embellished, or some outright made up. A few of them are even toned-down compared to the reality.
What I'd like help with here are those legends. If people who are interested could write down a legend that a young Padawan might have overhead in the Temple and post here in this thread, that'd be great.
Just short, anecdotal stuff. They can be as realistic or as far-fetched as desired, but they have to be believable, if only by the most young and gullible Jedi hopeful.
I'll compile them to 'feed' my players before they meet this guy. They will be a little surprised when they meet this old, still-legged old man who needs a shave and has constant alcohol on his breath.
(Even more surprising when they eventually discover, most of the legends have a kernel of truth to them.)
"I heard that this one time Lentaro was face to face with 15 well trained bounty hunters, all pointing their weapons at him. He winked at them and with a flip of his wrist his saber flipped on, and in one movement he had sliced everyone of the guns apart. Then most of them ran away, the ones who didn't were never heard from again."
"I heard that Lentaro doesn't sleep. He waits."

Lentaro has two speeds-walk, and kill.
Lentaro wields three lightsabres. 1 in each hand and one in his mouth.
Lentaro counted to infinity-twice.
Lentaro once shot down a droid fighter with his finger, by yelling "bang".
When his mother gave birth to him, Lentaro floated out and levitated the hospital, then proceeded to say his first word: Jedi. He was featured on the holonet for 7 whole months!
When he was a youngling he took up a padawan!
He once force pushed a spit-wad at master Yoda... and actually hit him!
He was once poisoned by 17 kouhons and laid in an alley for 3 whole days in the lower bowels of courascant. On the fourth day he returned to the temple and brought back half of black sun with him!
He once completed the entire request area of Swag in one night! :P
I heard that he is so powerful, that he's scared of himself.
I heard that Lentaro is so powerful, that when he rips a man apart, even the subspace around him is destroyed.
Excerpt of news video siezed prior to broadcast. Interviewee is retired Sergeant Major Droban of the Dirtwater Armed Forces (now disbanded).
"So you see, during the Clone Wars, some of the outlying systems didn't get immediate Republic help. They were just left to hang on as best they could until the 'Grand Army of the Republic' could get around to helping them.
"I was there on Dirtwater with General Fang-Shway when a droid force landing cut his corps off from his line of commuications. Supplies for three days was all that was on hand. So the General, he sets himself to thinkin' for a few minutes, then sends for Colonel Ruf-Nek, commander of the Strykers, the Dirtwater Army's elite commandoes.
"The General tells Ruf-Nek that the corps has to break out, get back into supply, or the droids will finish it off. Then, there would be nothing between the droids and the Capitol but farmers with hunting blasters. Ruf-Nek's commandoes were to punch a hole in the droid lines and then the hard-hitting mechanised divisions of the corps would follow through. The foot mobile troops would hold open the breach until the support units got through, then every one would head for friendly lines.
"Well, Ruf-Nek, he salutes, gives a hearty "We'll do it, SIR!", faces about and moves out smartly. Twelve houre later, the commandoes had moved silently up to the front line and several platoons had slipped past it, ready to inflict the maximum amount of mayhem in the minimum amount of time.
"As the fighting started, and the mech troops crept forward, ready to break through, the Strykers ran into trouble. The Droids decided to focus on destroying General Fang-Shway's Corps before finishing the conquest of Dirtwater. Instead of a single division of Droids, there were three. The Strykers infiltration and assault began to fail in the face of such numbers. The General ordered the mech troops to charge in, hoping to save the battle, but the droids were waiting and hadn't been thinned enough by the Strykers to matter.
"But just as a Droid brigade was about to move into the counter attack, taking a mechanised division in the flank, there was an explosion in the area of the brigade's command post. Then a flurry of firing. The Droid commanders in the brigade's leading battalions threw out a defensive screen and began to investigate - they stopped proparations to attack, if only for a few minutes.
"Then more explosions flared up from the Droid brigade's rear area. Droid heavy weapons in the forward battalions followed the sound of fighting and turned to the rear. They opened up, but quickly stopped firing, one by one, as a flurry of infantry blaster fire raked thier open crew positions.
"General Fang-Shway thought it was the Strykers, rallying, but as the battle progressed on the left flank, as the Droid brigade began to disintegrate, the cause finally materialized.
"He didn't walk out of the smoke and haze, it blew around him and began to disperse. Tall, lanky, his skin weathered to a leathery consistency. He just stood there, watching, ready. And he was alone.
"He was sooty, his robes torn and blackened with smoke. His eyes, those eyes, he squinted hard against the smoke, you could barely see his eyes. But they missed *nothing*.
"He was armed, carried a weapon in each hand. The right had a blaster, an old one, maybe two hundred years old, an old Merr-Sonn DL-2 with it's long, slender barrel and streamlined, low profile receiver. But his left hand, that told us who saw he wasn't a reflief column from Capitol. The man with the clouds of oily smoke swirling around him carried a different weapon in his left hand. A lightsaber, glowing brilliant green, shimmering like an emerald in the sun.
"That man was the only thing, human, droid or otherwise, that came out of that smoke. The left flank was secure. I know, I was there, I saw it. The General, he sent me forward to help keep units moving forward and together.
"I don't know who he was, though. He never told us his name. He shoved the blaster into his belt, extinguished the lightsaber and hung it from the same belt, then waved the lead battalion forward. As the corps moved out, the man took out a thin cigarillo and lit it, savoring it's flavor as he watched us go by.
"I saw this, I was there."

"All I need is more ammo, a little water, and some chips if you got them."
"I heard that this one time Lentaro was outnumbered by a group of enforcers from the Triax crime clan boss he was investigating. When they attacked with their vibro katanas, he dis-armed four of them with a flicker of his lightsaber, and then wielded all four of those vibrokatana simultaneously with the Force to keep the other hundred and eight at bay. The clan was decimated after that fateful night."
