Nice work so far, but her horns seem a bit on the short side. Other than that, very nice.

Dammit all!!
Um, meant to be a guy...
*sigh* Hopefully it will come right with the colour and shading. Yeah, the horns I left shortish as he's meant to be in his late teens. Not sure how that adds up with the lekku though.
Anyway, here's the ink version.

This is looking great Mercy. I think it reads fine as guy, the facial features show that quite clearly. However, there is a fold in his robes over his chest that could be confused for the more feminine curves (trying to avoid saying "boobs" there). ;P
I like the shorter horns as it does make him seem younger. Have you seen the pictures of Anakin's Togrutan apprentice from the new CGI Clone Wars series yet? She has very short and neat horns and lekku.
Just as JawaStu said. It takes time for a Togruta to fully grow his horns, so don't worry about that. Just draw them the way that you feel they look best, whether short or long.

Righty-ho!
Here's the piece coloured and shaded. Let me know if anyone thinks it needs changing; deeper shadows, etc.
It is looking terrific Mercy, the color is just what I wanted. Thanks!!
Although... Maybe it could be a *little* less dark on the left side of his body. The black shadow kind of obscures the great work you have done with the face and horns.
Just a *Little* bit less dark would be enough on the left side of his body.
The colored version is AWESOME! Mercy, you certainly are branching out in your techniques and style. Keep it up.

Mercy, color wise I think it reads as masculine VERY well. The final post should not leave any question, even though the WIP might. I think it's turned out GREAT. nice work as always.

Here's the updated version - with more highlights on his left, name and signature.
Yeah, my monitor is set quite light, so I'm never sure how other people will be seeing my stuff...
Anyway, if you're happy with it I'll go ahead and post it. PM me with your email if you like and I'll send you the jpeg, okay?

Actually, just thinking about it, I may even have a go at the 'lordly' version you outlined in your request.
I kind of like this Character...

It definately looks good, but I don't like the blade. Even though the requestor wants a black blade, That is a completely physically impossble color for a lightsaber because black is the absence of all light. Nothing can "glow" black. Even a "blacklight" is not black, it's ultraviolet and also gives off violet light in the visible spectrum. OTher than that, it's great.

Ever read Discworld? There's an idea in there that there's colours outside the perceivable spectrum of our human eyes - one of which is called 'Octarine'; the colour of magic. Normal (non-wizardly) people would see this as an absence of light with a slight glow that would be the eye trying to register it.
Anyway, that's the idea I was going with when I did this one and I think it came out looking okay. Besides - requester's choice and that was one of the reasons I took the brief in the first place.
On a different topic, what are the thoughts on the new piece? Run with it?

As I said before, I like it even better than the last one. The pose the character has is great.
I can't wait to see what you do with the colors on that one. This one should be a little less on the Dark-side (Get it?) because he is still not so inmersed on teh evilness.

heh heh, got it. Yeah I'm going for the regal and oh-so-proud look. Glad you like it - colouring it up now. Going with mostly gold, red and purple. I can post the basic matt colour piece if you want to look over the colour scheme.

Wow Mercy. This is really looking pretty awesome right now! I like the expression + the pose + the robes + the cape!
I don't really even mind about that chest thingie, it's a minor detail that I am sure it won't even be noticeable with the coloring.
Thanks for taking up my request!

What's the word on the horns, though? I can make them longer if you like.
Hey, cheers LC ;)
