"Vidaa Churaan

Description: A young (mid 20s to early 30s) woman of lithe build, Vidaa has a soft angeled face, dark hair which is usually kept up in a neat bun, and blue sapphire eyes. Her robes are elegant, yet practical, and bear the Ansatan patterned designs of the Jedi Historians. Her single bladed lightsaber is also elegant yet practical and the grip is again, marked with Ansatan patterns. It's blade is a bright mint-green.

A trained archaeologist and historian, she usually keeps some basic field equipment nearby, and an archaeologist's satchel, stocked with datacards filled with information, recording devices, and a small kit filled with emergency medical supplies for accidents."

The rest of it is HERE!

That is just AWESOME! What can I say but that this picture is one of your best. The colors and texture of the clothes, the shading, the lightsaber hilt design, and it floating just above her hand. It is just kewl!

Ohmigawd.

That is so...freaking...incredible! And very much like how I pictured her! Thank you Mercy! I concur. The lightsaber is very cool, as are the Ansatan patterned robes. You really captured the soft yet angeled features of her face which gives her both a kind compassionate look, and that of a calculating scholar at the same time. You also managed to give her a hair bun, without making her look like Atris from KOTOR2. Top notch I say!

EDIT: Her robes are actually brown, but the lavander-blue-white thing you have going on looks good too ;)

Wey-hey!!!
I'm so glad you all liked it so much! I have to admit, I'm quite pleased with it myself.

Sorry about the tunic colour - I just thought it would suit her eyes to be blue. Still, if you're happy with it I'll post it straight to gallery!

(Really good to hear from you EvilWalks - you've no idea how often I don't even get a response from the requester! I really appreciate it!)

No problem Mercy. Personally, I know how it is not to have feedback (whether negative or positive) or recognition for your work, especially if it's something done for someone else. Tends to build anxiety in my case.

Heh. My original idea for the lightsaber was actually a simple cylinder with emitter design, that was wrapped in a bound cloth that had ansatan patterns in to it...but again, I dropped the ball by making my description a little too non-specific, and again, you did something else instead that was way cooler. ;)

Danke! Merci! Shi shi! Ankthay Uoyay! Qa'pla! Vor'e!

No worries, darl! You're most welcome.
I'm just glad you like it!

I think it's funny how different people get different images when something is described to them, and I like how your request wasn't too specific. It gave just enough playground to make it interesting!

I still think we should have a group effort like quarterly, or something, and all the artists who can be bothered complete a picture for the same request. I think it would be interesting to see how different styles or ideas come through in the completed works.
Might be a bit tough to organise, though...
