A Ubese Religious Zealot

So this is a character I've worked really hard on and I was thinking of making it a permanent character of mine. Since the character itself is interesting I was wondering if any artists out there might want to try their hand on it.

Biography: Raihane á Vell à Shoktara was the son of Raihelta á Vell à Shoktara and his wife Hanara à Shoktara, born to clan Shoktara on Uba IV. They were savage and nomadic like the rest of the True Ubese to survive their harsh and unforgiving environment but what made clan Shoktara different from any other clan was their value of history and blend of culture with fighting. Each member was ingrained with the knowledge of their culture and their history but most of all they were taught to forever hate the Republic for what they did to their people. Raihane was chosen from a young age to become one of the clan’s monk warriors, zealots of the most violent kind. His teachings revolved around the Ubese’s religious belief and the many prayers especially of. In his culture it was taught that no matter how hated his foe may be, last rights must be given for them to peacefully pass on to the realm of the dead but in life the heretic must be fought with merciless brutality and ruthlessness. Other rules barred his way as well, no member of the man’s family could take blame for that man, and to harm an innocent was bounds for spiritual punishment.

Most importantly Raihane was trained to withstand pain, both self inflicted and torture down to burning verses of prayers to his skin. He was taught the way of the spear and the blade along with the discipline from learning martial arts, foregoing the use of guns to fully master his skills of close combat. He became fastest, strongest, and most agile of his brothers but he did not revere in arrogance with his fellow people.

Raihane excelled, embracing his teachings fully and he chose to take his final trial at the age of sixteen by hunting one of the galaxy’s most feared predators, a Gundark. Armed with nothing but his wits and a knife he was sent out to hunt and kill one to bring back a trophy. Travelling on his own away from his clan he quickly gained the attention of one of the feared creatures. For three days Raihane was both hunted and hunter with sporadic skirmishes with the best. On the third day the young warrior managed to kill his prey and take from it the ears, bones, and what ever meat he could carry. On the trip returning to his tribe he crafted from the bones of the Gundark his very own spear, using the teeth for spikes and cloth for a handle.

Upon returning to his village though, he found it in ruin. Broken in dismay, Raihane could do nothing but weep and bury the fallen. From the debris he discovered the culprit of the crime as a rival clan known as the Malex, a clan of warrior that had forgotten their roots and instead chose profit over their heritage by becoming mercenaries and slavers. The young warrior vowed vengeance, from his home he took his father’s sword and broke the handle to create the blade of his quarterstaff. Travelling by night and day he tracked the war band to their camp. He took his time destroying the much larger group’s supplies and tents with minimal confrontation until he made a daring attack on their leader. He managed to wound him but was captured before delivering the killing blow. He was beaten and tortured for days before finally managing to escape during the night. He killed his guards with ease and laid waste to the camp in a night of frenzied killing.

By morning the camp was turned to ash and Raihane’s staff, stained in blood, had shattered from the battle. Taking the bone shards and the blade he discarded the rest and set to work burying the bodies. In his labor he found that there was nothing left for him on this planet and that it was time to leave the painful memories. He decided that he would take a pilgrimage away from this place to be in touch with his own spiritual side and to find a place where he may belong. Taking what he could from the destroyed camp he left for the nearest city with a spaceport. From there he bought a full environmental suit as well as a better breathing mask then stowed away on a ship headed for Duro. From there he wandered as a mercenary and a monk. He learned basic quickly though he resented speaking to people, the most he had ever spoken to was a weapon smith on Naar Shaada who Raihane forced to build a new weapon while at the same time he explained his story to the man of how he came to be when the smith had questioned the symbols carved and burnt into his own skin like scripture, in the end an eloquent obsidian double headed staff axe was made and on to it Raihane etched symbols of prayer and redemption.

He found most shallow and depraved, seeking comfort in the drink and searching only for profit in exchange for their souls. Though he found some of his own kind amongst the slavers he resented them as well, calling them ‘Yrak Pootzck’ no matter where they actually hailed from. Worse yet he was confronted with the sight of the Republic for the first time. Though at first he found it confusing, they were not vicious and evil as he had been taught. Nonetheless he hated them, seeing them as evil and two-faced. Though the Sith were clearly darker then them, Raihane at least respected them for their honesty, they knew what they were and did not hide it behind false consciences. In the end he found his xenophobic nature growing as he found hate and anger in anyone that was not of the True Ubese. All others he saw as lesser beings and that he was above any of them, he became arrogant and prideful, looking down on all others. He cared little for their philosophies, though he did find condolence in the Jedi’s belief, finding it more attuned with his own belief more then others though not enough to respect it, and their cultures were of little concern to him.

It was during a pilgrimage to Corellia that he met with a man known as ‘The Prince’. At first the Ubese monk wished nothing to do with a lesser being like him but slowly he began to accept his ideology and beliefs. Raihane pledged an allegiance of servitude for him and for the first time he thought he had found a place he could remain with a purpose.
