Submissions of the Week
In the vein of JawaStu's old weekly (or so) updates, I think it's time to recap the blizzard of new entries - and new artists!
In case you weren't aware, SWAG just accepted several new contributing guild members - among them Tusserk, JohnGWolf, Dranubis and davankabak - all of whom have been uploading awesome high quality art.
Recent submissions include some very delightful portraits and scenes from Tusserk's own misadventures. There's a poor Ryn harangued by dwarfish Ranats, some very emotional portrayals, a few classic portraits, and the cutest duo you've ever seen.
Dranubis has established a theme of a sort of Star Wars-y graphic design with squadron patches - most recently a devilish Jolly Roger for an indomitable lady pirate - as well as some awesomely intense character portraits in a unique bold toon-ish style.
Davankanak, being the skilled starship deckplanner he is, has kicked off his newfound member status with an intricate deckplan (a bit too intricate, maybe - we might need a higher resolution download option!).
JohnGWolf contributed some rather intensely detailed character portraits with a very unique paint style, including his eponymous Jedi, an iron knight, and a modified nanny droid schematic.
TNJ added a few classic 3D pics - a very moody portrait of a malevolent she-sith, and a continuation of the Star Wars Xenomorph series (complete with load-lifter!).
Among the new submissions are several completed requests - all contributed by brand-spanking new guildies. JohnG nicely filled a request for a 2001-esque space station, a tattoo design of a wicked lightsaber, a Miraluka sith lord and a Togorian Jedi, all sporting his own brand of detailed paint style, with solid form and intense lighting effects.
Tusserk completed a few requests too - one humorous piece of a "Wookiee with knickers" (which is both a skillful rendition in Tusserk's typical delightful fashion and also conceptually hilarious), and a soulful portrait of a Fosh biologist. Both sport hallmarks of Tusserk's fun style.
Let's not forget an old(er) favorite, Mercy ;) who just completed a request of her own - a half-mechanical crab-man mechanic (?)! Aside from being up to Mercy's usual standards of quality art (and bearing her usual hallmarks) it's also a highly imaginative interpretation. And those Jawas just sell the whole thing for me. ;)

To SWAG shall ye steer, all ye sons o' the classics.
Poor poets, poor artists, poor fan-boys and knaves.
To see what the fun is, that all fun surpasses.
As we bow down and worship George Lucas like slaves.
Welcome!
