A sincere character request [Hisham]

Hello everyone,

I've recently found this site and am genuinely taken aback by the wealth of talent on display. Some of these pieces were made years ago - I can't believe I've missed this treasure trove till now. That aside; I'd like to take this opportunity to make a sincere request to any and all artists who are feeling charitable and find something of merit within my character's description.

Please find below a (somewhat) brief description of my character; I'm looking for someone to assist me in bringing him to life and would be incredibly grateful if one of you creative individuals would indulge me.

Species: Human.

Name: Kola.

Middle name: None.

Last name: Vasse.

Nickname: None.

Gender: Male.

Age: 29 standard galactic years old as of the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant.

Height: 5’8”.

Weight: 179 lbs.

Hair colour/Style: Black, curly - braided into thick long locks, mostly tied together that hang freely at his back.

Facial appearance: A roundish face framed by high cheekbones, slight dimples and a sparse beard that cradles his face like a helmet strap. He possesses full lips, a broad nose that crests between almond shaped eyes draped by long lashes and heavy lids, capable of conveying nonchalance or intense focus on a whim. In contrast to his youthful looks and rich dusky skin his forehead is heavily lined from deep contemplation.

Eye colour: Dark brown.

Body appearance: Naturally broad shoulders flank a physique honed through strict adherence to multiple physical disciplines. Defined muscles adorn his body; capable of explosive power yet still flexible.

Home planet: Kola was born on Kuat, but as a Jedi he holds no overt sense of affiliation towards that planet or its inhabitants beyond its membership to the Galactic Republic and his indelible respect for all sentient life.

Current residence: The Jedi Temple on Tython.

Ship: None: Kola makes use of whatever transport he can gain passage aboard, commandeer or is assigned by the Order, he doesn't own a starship of his own, in keeping with the Jedi's philosophy on possession.

Armour: None: Kola prefers the unencumbered ease of movement that only traditional woven robes can provide. Armour is only utilised when necessary and discarded/returned once the situation that required its use has passed.

Type of lightsaber: - Self-built standard type hilt.

Lightsaber colour: Blue.

Secondary weapon(s): Kola has built an identical shoto, albeit with a green focusing crystal at its core with which to utilise the "Jar’kai" component of his Form VI training. Lately however he’s chosen to focus on perfecting his single blade techniques, weaning himself off its use in an attempt to avoid it becoming a crutch that would diminish his expression of the Jedi way along other avenues. As a result the second lightsaber is kept in component form, stored in pouches on his utility belt, but available nevertheless for when a situation that requires such a tactic might arise.

Biography:

While Kola Vasse would be the last person to sing his own praises he has nonetheless proven time and again to be a formidable Jedi Knight; an ardent defender of the Galactic Republic and a willing servant of the Force. Whether it’s at the forefront of battlegrounds, or conducting diplomatic talks within the corridors of the galaxy’s' political elite - he strives to do his utmost in contributing to the efforts to bring a swift and peaceful end to the conflicts that mercilessly ravage the democracy he's sworn to protect.

Born a mere year before the Sith signalled their return by cutting a bloody swathe through the heart of the Republic in their campaign for dominion, Kola as a consequence has only truly known a galaxy racked in the throes of warfare. With thousands of star systems now engulfed in the unnatural shroud of the Dark Side, the fear and despair that its taint induces in the Republic's populace is like a nagging barb against his Force attuned senses. A poignant reminder of the perils of abusing the gifts that the Force bestows upon those sensitive to its presence, a continual source of motivation for him to use his own talents to impart serenity and knowledge, for the depths that await him lest he forgets are exemplified all too keenly in the Sith whom have wrought nothing but devastation and suffering.

Despite being a model of human health, physically predisposed to intrepid gestures, Kola cuts a humble, unobtrusive figure as he diligently goes about his duties. Carrying himself with a silently assured confidence - radiating calm, competence and approachability to those sentient beings who can appreciate humanoid body language. While content to allow the Force to guide his actions on most matters he is however a pragmatist at heart; a man who favours a thorough appreciation of an issue before he commits himself fully to the task at hand.

Ever composed, for the most part, when not dealing with topics that pique his academic interest, he's eloquent and tactful to a fault as he delivers his words in a distinctly silky High Coruscanti accent. Curtailing his outbursts to the occasional wry remark or a sardonic rebuke from time to time It takes a situation of considerable magnitude - usually concerning the Dark Side, to elicit a more stern demeanour, yet once Kola has chosen to draw his lightsaber and take more visceral action his intuition and focus transfer seamlessly into the martial realm earning him a reputation as a skilled swordsman, shrewd tactician and an accomplished pilot.

A dedicated practitioner of the sixth form of lightsaber combat: Niman or "Way of the Rancor", though not particularly militant in his outlook Kola’s philosophy on life shares a particularly strong affinity with the form - a strong believer in the notion of versatility so that one can overcome or outright avoid obstacles via adaptation. In keeping with that notion he endeavours to comprehend and utilise as many facets as he can in any given situation so that he might settle them as efficiently as possible. The fruits of this sense of fluidity have equipped him with an arsenal of diverse skills; from fluency in multiple languages to expertise in social sciences, survival and investigative techniques that combined have moulded him into a robust individual.

Yet despite his best efforts what brief respite Kola ekes out for the Republic with his selfless actions he understands that only the complete demise of the Sith and ultimately the stemming of the Dark Side that enthrals them can return tranquillity to the galaxy and its inhabitants. It’s a daunting task and yet, fortunately, one he acknowledges that he doesn't undertake alone. Countless citizens of the Republic have risen to the challenge posed by the Sith Empire in defence of their homes and loved ones, whose inspirational sacrifices have continually endured the maw of evil that threatens to swallow the galaxy whole.

It is for these people that Kola labours on; with conviction, united in purpose with his Jedi brethren, his faith in the Force one of many bright lights poised to drive back the encroaching darkness.
