hello again! more progress work i thought you might enjoy :) i do all my work in photoshop CS4 by the way...
pre step 1 - the plain scan of the pencils for the jedi guardian character. i scan in color at 300 dpi.
pre step 2 - i use levels to darken my blacks (and allows you to see all that i scribble before the clean final piece!)
pre step 3 - now i use levels to bring out the white and remove most of those nasty sketch lines.

i def love you all... but more that i am frusterated by those that make requests then dont even respond when we draw for them. i will always draw star wars and will post them here for sure... but requests are on hold for now.

step one - lines. these are already leveled and colored, but i would not normally color lines until the end. i am always changing up how i color lines but in this case i took the darkest purple in the colors and added black at like 60% (even though i save the art in RGB, i always work in CMYK. i feel i have more control of the color).
step two - flat colors. 'nuff said.
step three - gradient overlay. i like to use a darker magenta for bad guys :)
step four - any special effects. in this case saber and whip.

fellow swag artists... i have a confession. i worry about how my style fits in here. there are amazing artists that do some great work here. the style of these artists fits into a genre of art that fits very well into the RPG world. while i have been gaming ever since i can remember being alive! i feel that my style might not be what requesters want here. am i too stylized for this site? maybe i am... thats okay with me (i am true to my art. i can draw in any style i have come across, but this is how i want to draw) but i would like some honest feedback. give it to me straight swagers...
