(I'm still in the process of finishing Lord Crumb's Selkath Sith Lord, but have decided to let that one rest for a few days. In the meantime, picking up another request doesn't seem to be such a bad thing to do. Given real life busy-ness, this one ought to be finished after the Selkath, in about 10-12 days.)

For reference, the request by Tan-Par is here: http://swagonline.net/node/3274 .

This is a rough sketch of the portrait I have in mind for the request. I aim to suggest (rather than excruciatingly detail) the krayt dragon emblem that goes on the character's white pants. I am hoping the pose and the set of the eyes in this sketch can communicate the character's physicality and grim ruthlessness. I'm expecting to detail the eyes and probably the knives and belt.

Damn sweet stuff, man! Your style is true art, very moody colors and sketchy atmosphere, I love it.

Brilliant, really, although he looks a little bit like an Orc - but amazing skills, nonetheless. ;)

Thanks, peeps.

...looks a little bit like an Orc..

Indeed. There's only so much we can do about that without loosing the knifefighter side to the character, I suppose. Maybe a nose/snout tweak might help.

Also:

The original request was for a krayt dragon emblem on his white pants... Now, I'm not quite sure how feasible that will be since it may look too obscured and inconsequential down there in the bottom of the picture.

Maybe a krayt dragon shadow as backdrop can be a good solution. The original requester has been out of touch, so I'll give it a few more days before I push through with the idea. What do you guys think?

Hmmm.

No word as yet from the original requester, so I'll back-burner this baby for now.

I'm back... and the pants are of little importance... I just wanted to give ideas of what to work with. This is amazing, I can't wait to see the finished product.
