There's a wonderful, detailed description of this character in the request HERE - actually, she reminds me a lot of Jarael, another part-Arkanian woman in the Knights of the Old Republic era, I believe. There's some fantastic pictures of her online...

Anyway, here is my sketch for Kaelyn. Unfortunately I ran out of paper at the bottom and couldn't fit her feet on... So this may have to be set somewhere misty!

Let me know what you think, k?

Yes, the background is cetainly good. When you combine the whole thing together it should be awesome.

Mercy

I think this one's about done, now!
Let me know if you think anything needs changing or whatever...

Lord Crumb

I agree it is very good work. I would rank you up there with Larry Elmore from the AD&D artwork. I know it is a Star Wars piece but it had a D&D feel to it. So kewl!

Mercy

Thanks guys! Yeah, she does have quite a 'Wood Elf' feel to her!
So I'm mostly waiting to hear from the requester now... I wonder where she's got to?

Mercy

Okay, I've redone the background so it's a bit less simple, I think it works with the detail on the figure better...

Kaelyn

Sorry it took me so long, been away from the computer for a while. Anyway, she's lovely. Neat style and all. Intresting y'put her with a walking stick. Still really fun. I like it!

Cool! Glad you got back to me, glad you like the picture!
The walking stick just seemed to work with stance, and the background too. I know it wasn't in the original request, it kinda just turned up!
Anyway, I'll load her up to gallery, now...

Mercy

Okay, so here's a new version as requested by Kaelyn, of her character in a fighting stance. The stance is modeled after ones used in Tai Chi. The sabers have a small basket hilt and will be lavender in colour.

PS - thanks Mev! Sorry I'd missed your comment previously!!

Mercy

PPS - I realise her right leg looks overly foreshortened. I'm hoping that tone and lighting will clear that up some...

Rozali

LOve the backround. Plus I love that pose you do on that and many more characters. But... I noticed one leg is abit longer than the other :-(

Xanamiar

She already said that she was hoping the colored version would even it out a bit, Roz.

I have to say that I absolutely LOVE that background Mercy, very nice.

Mercy

Wicked!
Glad you all like, now I just have to hear back from the requester...
I'll put the next one up when it's done, k?

Cheers!

Mercy

Here's the base colour for the figure.
I'll start on the light & shadow next...

Mercy

Okay, I think this one's about done.
I've had to drop in a blue 'glow' behind her 'cause otherwise she tended to blend into the background a little too much, but other than that I'm fairly happy with it...

Mercy

Cheers guys!

I dunno about the background, I was just looking for somewhere dramatic to stage her in an action pose. I guess it will be up to the requester to find out where this is!
