I was just wondering if any of the artists here use 'Copic Markers'?, and if so, how often?

I know certain people (like Reverend Strone and Bralt I believe) use Prisma color markers. I have a few, but I'm no good with them yet.
Yeah, I'd help, but if the media isn't digital, I'm useless...

Thats ok, I have decided to go digital as well. I just completed my first cross breed pic a few mins ago.
I stated with a basic face, then decided to change it to a Twi-Lek. I then inked it and scanned it. Next I spent the rest of the day cleaning up the scan job :( took forever.
Then all i needed to was color it. For my first "digital color" job, I don't think it turned out so bad. I'll see what I can do about getting it on the net for viewing.
You can put it up on Photobucket or any free image hosting site, link it here to this forum. We'd love to see how your Twi'lek looks like.

Ok, my first Twi'Lek... Yea the colors could be better, but I am new to using the computer for coloring and have yet to try shading and such.

Wow, that looks pretty cool! Do you have Photoshop or access to Photoshop (i.e. at school or at a friends)? If you do, you should take your drawing on a jumpdrive to these places and start messing around with it. Virtually every artist on Swag would probably direct you to picking up some Photoshop and would help you every step of the way if you don't know it. Keep up the good work and keep posting cool stuff.
Oh yeah, copic markers... I've never been to good with them myself. They can lead to some pretty cool pen drawing shading though. Better save up your money if you want 'em. Pretty pricey. A good way to learn if you like them is to pick up one cool grey, or some form of tan at a good craft store, and try shading a few drawings with them and see if you like them or want more. You'll generally get a pretty good feeling of whether they are for you or not.
Good Luck!
Thanks for the uplifting comment :)
Unfortunatly I recieved word today that my job will be taking me out of the country for while, so art will just have to wait for at least a couple weeks while I get ready for a busy year of travel. I will still try to find time, but for at least the next 3-4 weeks I am going to very busy.
No I dont have photoshop. That pic was done with an old copy of paint shop pro. I have been trying to get photoshop, just waiting for both the time and money. :/
Thanks again :) its always nice to hear good things :)
Actually, I've been hearing about an open source program that's out there that is apparently very similar to photoshop. Anyone know what I'm talking about? If I figure out what it's called I'll post it here. I can't say whether it's good personally, but I hear good things.

It's called GimpShop. While I've never tried it, my brother has and has claimed he likes it. I don't know how similar it is but It is said to be an alternative to photoshop. Don't hold me to it though.
You also might find something interesting here as well?

Hopefully this will help. There's apparently a mod to make GimpShop look like Photoshop as well. Enjoy.
"The Gimp" is the name of the program, and "Gimp Shop" is the mod to make it more photoshop'esque... It's a great product, but for those of you already very used to the photoshop way of doing things it'll take time to get used to it. Personally I'd love to take that time but I already know photoshop inside an out, so... kind of pointless for me since it's always a time crunch. But I'd definitely suggest you get out there and play with it.

I love Copic Markers, the Japanese type are my favorite. Problem is the Japanese Copics are expensive and I've ran out, I only use them for my sketch designs but they're great. I learned about the use of them about 5 years back a relative of mine is an artist for Disney and he uses them for the story boards and roughs.
Beo,
