Darth Guile

Guile – noun; insidious cunning in attaining a goal; crafty or artful deception; Darth Guile was a Sith during the Legacy Comics era. He was a member of Darth Krayt's "One Sith", but like any true Sith Lord, he was skilled in deception and betrayal. Though Guile appeared to serve Krayt fully, he secretly believed in Darth Bane's ancient teachings of "The Rule of Two", and labored not only to defeat Roan Fel's Empire and the Galactic Alliance, but also to bring about the downfall of the One Sith from in the inside, ending what he saw as a dilution of the Dark Side.

I would not want to meet that guy down a dark alley. This picture makes me glad that our campaign is in the Fall of the Republic Era.

Thanks!

I made this with the same techniques I used on Darth Demos. I am not anywhere near as happy with the result. Don't know why it turned out so different. I guess maybe I tweaked the filters too much.

In comparison to your other sith drawings like "Darth Omen" and Darth Demos....

Yeah, those two are much "cleaner" looking.

For this one you might've wanted to save a copy, add in a gausian blur filter to help smoothen it out, then merge the layers, and then feather the foreground layer to blend it better to the background (removes the thin white outline). Or try coloring and shading over it digitally.

Using color curve adjustment would've also helped, get more contrast in the black areas, and maybe tone down the red a tad...

But hey, like anyone who's joined up to SWAG, you'll gradually improve if you keep at it. Keep on drawing regularly, rather than one piece occasionally. You'll learn what works, what doesn't work as you improve your skills.

So don't let this get you down. Take it in stride and move onto the next piece. :)

If your going to complement me, don't tell me my work is neat, cool or awesome. If you really like it, tell me why you like it and what you like about it. Only then I'll take it as a complement.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, for some reason, it looked better in Photoshop than the upload does. The last thing I did, as an experiment, was merge the layers. I think the image popped much better before that.

I guess the beauty of Photoshop is that I can still fix this and release an improved version (Now I sound like GL...) :)
