I'd love to see the Swashbuckling Captain K'Ehleyr as a CG character!! >=-D
Wow,
Doing a version of Captain K'Ehleyr for ya CGI style all Swashbuckling would be very cool. She needs to have boots more like these,...

Oh, that would be so awesome if you could do that for me.
Ok, so here we go ! :)
Comments
Oooooooooohhh, nice start I really like this.
Ok, couple little updates, still mixing and matching some of her wardrobe and accessories (see'ing what fits and what not)... can adjust the colors to match later... Thought i'd try find some sort of wristbands or gauntlets for her that might look interesting. Also have some belt clips and accessories to add yet too...
Then I'll pose her, setup some better lighting, either indoor or outdoor, and get her skintone done...
Gave her hair some volume and a bit more length...
Question - would you want a brown leather / black leather combination, or try make it all black / black leather? And as for the red highlights (sash / vest) ?
Update: Ok, curiosity go the best of me just before going to bed, so I quickly loaded in a setting I already had made and sitting unused on the hd... Then loaded a skin set I had sitting around... just to see what she might look like...
Based on your pics of K'Ehleyr, I'll probably have to shade the skintone more crimson as I usually make mine more pink/purplish toned. Certainly not a problem, like I said, I had this set already made (tinted) and had ready available as a saved preset
Not sure if I'll keep this particular setting (high quality setings took 5.5hrs to render! :p) , aside from how long to render, its quite plane, and a roadside out in the middle of nowheres... unless i try add some better clouds and something else to it... That or just change the scenery entirely...
Anyways, won't be able to do anything further until I get home from work later today...
Wow,
I'm so impressed with all your hard work. I think that K'Ehleyr should number of different outfits, so I pleased with what you have her in. Keep up the good work and let see how see evolves.
Heya and Thanks. Just posting from my mobile on lunch break. shes alot of fun to work on as im mixing and matching clothing and accessory pieces from various outfits. Have a few options:
- I could make the boots black leather and keep the red for the sash and vest or
- I could keep the boots brown, and make the vest brown leaving only the sash red...
Either way can get a little more coordination happening as well make the strip on her black bodysuit red or keep it purple.
Might keep the same scenery if I add better clouds and maybe a cityscape to the far left or right. We'll see :)
Hmmm or even red boots would work too... red vest, red sash, red boots...
Or unless I can find a stylish scarf...
Just brainstorming ideas here
Hmmm?... I suppose you could make the boots black leather and keep her sash and vest red. I guess you can really work on the shading of her skintone to make it more crimson as well.
Its okay, I love brainstorming. =)
What other ideas do you have?
hmm,I just finished Work and would have to see what else I have for clothing options, I was largely going by what the other pictures of her look like mainly a black bodysuit/catsuit as I thought That was prerequisite. I do have other outfits from powered armor or even more casual type evening wear for a night out on the town. should be home in an hour and I can do up a few more examples.
Cool, looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Ok, am home, and here's
Red: Vest & Sash
Black: Boots, bodysuit, belts
She looks verying swashbuckling.
Going to work on her skintone next, get a more red or crimson tone, so we can get a better visual...
But yeah, i am home.for the rest of the evening and relaxing and enjoying working on her.. if ya had yim msn or aim or skype, we could be chatting/typing more lively... :)
I do have skype,...
K, crimsion skin test ... might still have to tweak it a bit...
I like what you have shown me so far on skype.
Ok, here's where I last left off last night. Wont be back til later tonight as i've got a lster shift today...
She just keeps getting better and better, TNJadeonar! I know that you are still working on her, but please don't forget her sword/saber on her hip on the finished piece.
Heya, hadn't forgotten about her.... after some thinking, i thought i'd try to see if i can model something passibly convincing as a yv-545... the 3d training course isn't that far into the sessions yet, as it goes by modules and its a new course... so i begun trying on my own. inexperiance mainly is what's taking the time for the trial and error method, and lots of re-do's ... tho i think i'm slowly getting there... if i can manage to at least do part of the ship thats viewable - the area of the hull where the laming ramp is - i'm assuming which is between the front mandibles there... i can't make any promises yet, i'm just giving it my best try.... It would be cool to see her infront of the landing ramp of her ship :)
Seeing K'Ehleyr in front of the landing ramp of her ship would be truly amazing if you can pull it off.
Had 2 weeks of rain and thunderstorms, now going through a heatwave. Gonna try gst the window ac installed tonight. 29.5c in the huose is not fun. Sorfy about the delays. Got a decent I think passable start on the ship. Will have at least the front visible.
Wow really, other than bad weather that you've had to undergo, sounds like you have had somme good luck with this piece.
Yeah, to my own surprise on the ship modeling part. Mainly due to inexperience and newness to it all its been taking me quite a few retries with using the tools and functions to get the desired effect. The modeling training course I signed up for just released its next module segment and I have yet to watch it. Just need a little patience. Soon as I get the house cooled down a bit, get the computer turned on I'll upload a screenshot.
WHat I do have essentially is the basic hull floorplan shape if u were to draw a deckplan in a 2d paint program. And I had just managed to figure out how to construct / raise the walls- outer hull. Took alot of retries to figure out the proper process to get the desired result. So what I have is the forward mandibles and that hexagonal airlock looking piece where I'll fit the boarding ramp underneath. Have to make the "greebles" - the pipes and boxes looking Outer hull looking components like the Millennium Falcon has. Possibly some landing gear and a partial interior.
Definitely want to come back and finish the ship in its entirety if I can.
WHew! All that typed via my Galaxy Note 2 phone.
Wow, that was a lot to say using just a Galaxy Note 2 phone. =O
Ok, i have the project files in a dropbox folder so i was able to load it on my netbook and snap a few screenshots of the YV-545 work in progress... this is where i'm at right now stage-wise when i last worked on it. not even sure what type of interior layout i'm going with, but i was experimenting with a mil falcon cylindrical layout just to see what it could look like for interior spacing. Later on i'll try other interior layouts. For now the main focus is the front mandibles greebles, boarding ramp, landing gear, and a small section of interior thats visible going up the ramp from the camera angle.
Not sure if the mandibles remain at the same ceiling / floor height or if they become narrower -err taper towards the tips... can't seem to tell based on all the googled images (not very many at that) that i'm referencing from, including Hisham's own YV545 he drew here... I could use some input from the community on this...
Anyways, so, what do you think sofar?
I think it sounds like you're doing a very cool job of it. Maybe you should put up a request for input in the community forum?
I don't know how much you intend to do with regard to the ship, but FWIW, I've found for myself lately that I get a LOT of fulfillment, and flexibility out of my model if I don't intersect polygons. Obviously this makes texturing a bit more work, but actually building out the way the ship connects and not just faking it via polygon intersection has done an awful lot of good for my attempts at ship building lately. Just an observations, in case you care. :-)
