This looks like a bit of a return to your earlier style, though I don't mean to say it's a step back. I like the second pose better than the first - seems a bit less generic. What sets her apart as a Dark Jedi, though? I'm not necessarily even saying you should draw a lightsaber or robes, but when I look at this image, "Dark Jedi" isn't at all the first thing that comes to my mind.
Also, not to be nitpicky, since I know your style tends toward long arms and legs and slender builds, but she hardly looks the 5'8", 135-lb woman described in the request thread. If I had to guess, I'd say closer to 6'1" and 90 lbs., but perhaps that's just me. If a more stylized, cartoon/manga look is what you're going for, this should work great.
1.) I like the overall of the second pic better, but Ubiqtorate is right, it doesn't exactly scream dark jedi to me... more like... ship mechanic. Still I like it.
2.) I REALLY like the coat in the second image.
3.) Is that a lighsaber holster? If so, I'm not so hot on that
4.) Again, I have to agree with Ubiqtorate. Don't be afraid to... un-lean-ify your figures. Also in regard to the style change... I like both styles we've seen from you color-wise, but it seemed largely a color thing to me. I like the light and airy color scheme you do usually, but the darker one was great also. I'd be really interested to see more of that.
Good points, all. You're right my characters tend towards the lean, if not the downright skinny...
The holster is meant to be for the gun - cause I can't draw hardware, Couldn't get the lightsaber into the second picture.
The picture is a companion piece to the padawans pic, so it will be in my previous shadowing style, probably with a window-style background again.
I'll load up the coloured version so far, but with everything said in mind I may well draw up a new one.
Thanks for the suggestions - I like hand emerging from behind the crate, possibly with a creeping pool of blood...
I have no issues on hair length. Artist choice. When driven by the Dark Side, the person learns to draw on that dark power. She is a tragic character. You hate her for being a Dark Jedi but pitty her as well.
I getting to philosophical. I do tend to ramble in real life.
Love the shadows and tones. Being a Dark Jedi I tend to think of them as Vampyres. They prefer to work at night but can operate during the daytime as well. :-)
Yeah, realised after I'd posted it that I'd forgotten the spark. So I've added that. I've also extended the box a little and the canvas too, so that the window is more centered. 'Cause it looks a bit weird going off the edge of the picture.
I don't think I've missed anything else, so if it's cool I'll post it in the gallery.
Hey, LC - this one was real fun!
Erm... not to re-awaken this but... I'm sorry... it looks like a flashlight... not a lightsaber. :-( Other then that it's wonderful. I just thought I'd toss that out there. I don't want her to be the deadly miraluka security guard... ya know?
Ha ha! I'm actually giggling at that! Security guard! Ah, sigh...
Yeah, I take the point. I'll have a little work at it, but I think it's gonna look like a flashlight whatever I do. Could just have it extinguished - depends what LC wants really.
Leave the saber extinguished. Her backstory would let the reader know she is a Failed Jedi turned Dark Jedi. If anyone questions the blood on ther floor remind them that Obi-Wan Kenobi sliced that dudes arm off in SW:IV A NEW HOPE and there was blood on the floor.

Decided I didn't like it after all, so I've drawn a new one.
LOVE IT! Especially the mask she's wearing. She looks tough.

P.S. Thank you for taking the request. Merry Christmas Y'all.

Good work, I can't wait to see it in color.

She could stand to put on a few pounds. Maybe give her a sneer or contempt look on her face.
Just a suggestion on the picture, if you were to put a hand sticking out from behind the crate. Lets you know she's deadly :-)

The blood idea is a good one.

Sketch 3.
Also realised she didn't have 'shoulder length' hair, so I've drawn a new one.
Liking the blood. Heh heh.
Managed to get the lightsaber into this one, don't know if you want it lit.

I just realized your comment about the lightsaber being lit.
How about it being extinguished - just a spark drawing into the hilt.
-LC
Sounds good, I like it! Like the saber's just about to be ignited.
What do you think of the new sketch?
(p.s. I am a fellow rambler - don't worry about it.)
I like it. Can you do a round window-style background. It is idea that came to me after reading your previous post. Keep up the good work.
-LC
Yeah, I can do that.
Here's the coloured version, I was going to go with a night-scape of the city - hence the blue tones on the shadows and highlights.
Here's the background sketch.

Mercy,
That's looking GREAT. Way to go!

Thanks, guys.
Here's the pic with background, and a (possibly) finished piece. I tried to make it look like a window onto Coruscant.
What do you think?
I thinks it is awesome. Love the window design. Thank you again for taking my personal request. I knew you would do a great job.
-LC
Mercy,
WOW! Fantastic, I love it. Finish the box/floor out and call that one done! Great job.

Mercy,
What about the spark at the tip of lightsaber hilt. Just a reminder.
LC :-)

HA HA HA! Thought that was funny.
LC :-)
Sweet as - I'll post it then.
Thanks, guys. As always, it's been fun!
Oh, and let me know if you want the big picture sent through again, LC.
