I like the mask/hood combo - very well designed. And the details on the gun are awesome.

Very nice... love the look....
Here's the first colour version. No background yet.
Two backgrounds. I think I prefer the first.
Firstly, the second looks rather like the background for a pic I did for Lord Crumb - Sharek Torma. Secondly, I think the figure becomes a bit lost in the similar coloured background, whereas the background for the first compliments and pushes forward the figure.
Thoughts?
I think as a "hunter" the second background works really well. The blending in and all. As for showcasing the character, I agree with the first one making the figure pop out at you more. But hey, the are both way cool so who cares, you do great things.
I like the first background better myself... Going to make the same note as I did on the request.. She is left handed,(according to the request) and you have the blaster in her right. Could always just mirror it :)
Bugger! I thought about it and planned it and still got it wrong! Still, as you say, I could just do a horizontal flip and 'ta da' - left handed. Aw, that blows...
Oh, on a totally different topic, I'm working on Ben now, Xanamiar. Should have the pic to you in no time!
I love the costume design Mercy!! I like both backgrounds, though I prefer the city background, she seems more at home there. :)
And I must say that I prefer the desert background. Fantastic work either way though. If you decide to go with the city background think you might "clean it up" a little? Not that it's dirty right now, but it's pretty "impressionistic" and I think the city could REALLY pop with a bit of detailing. Still, fantastic work, I love it as always.
I think the reason I like the first one so much better is that the landscape REALLY suits the stance. The city scape just doesn't feel "as natural" to her stance imo. Still that's just me running my mouth, so great work either way.

Nah, I agree. I do quite like the 'impressionistic' style of the city background, as you so eloquently put it, but I just feel like the sand dunes work better.
Cheers for the opinions - you know I always appreciate your input!
Sorry it took me so long to respond, i've been without internet and the email got sent to junk folder. As for what I think. I like it, alot I am impressed with the work that you've done. Thanks for the hard work that you've done on it.
No worries, do you want it flipped by the way? Xanamiar pointed out she isn't left handed in this picture. Glad you like it, though!
Yeah, I just was looking at that, if you could flip it then that would make this picture perfect.
Awesome, and (last question) which background do you prefer? I'm leaning toward the sandscape, personally.
